TCS Ignitians

TCS – SASTRA collaborative MCA Program is a tie-up between TCS and SASTRA University, Thanjavur, wherein the TCS Ignite associates can enhance their academic qualification by pursuing MCA program under OL Mode. Through this MCA program, they can acquire new competencies or enhance existing competencies, while continuing their professional work at TCS. This SASTRA MCA OL program is recognized by AICTE and approved by UGC.

Eligibility for Admission

  • Associate should have been hired as part of Ignite and should be either currently under Ignite training or belong to Ignite Alumni who are working for TCS
  • Associate should have undergraduate degree from a recognized university in 10+2+3 pattern or an Examination of any other competent Agency accepted by SASTRA University

Programme Duration

The program duration is 2 years, consisting of 4 semesters

Selection Procedure

The eligible TCS associates can register for the program using the Admission Survey link and SASTRA University will select the students based on the eligibility criteria.

Medium of instruction

The medium of instruction for M.C.A. Programme will be in English.

Our Learning Methodology

  • Pre-recorded videos in which experts deliver lecture or presentation on designated topics.
  • Videos will be uploaded monthly, with one module released each month. There will be a total of 3 modules, each consisting of 4 chapters.
  • Videos will remain accessible until the completion of the semester.
  • Accessible at any time on all devices, including mobile phones, computers, and tablets.
  • Asynchronous Mentoring
  • This may include resources such as e-books, lecture notes, PowerPoint presentations, or open-source materials.
  • The content will support comprehensive student learning.
  • Accessible at any time on all devices, including mobile phones, computers and tablets.
  • Synchronous Teaching & Learning
  • Students are required to thoroughly study the content of the previous module before attending the live webinar session.
  • Each webinar session can take place in either Slot 1 (5:15 PM to 7:15 PM) or Slot 2 (7:30 PM to 9:30 PM). Please refer to the program schedule posted on the website for session details.
  • The sessions can happen on Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays or all the days of the weekend.
  • These sessions will focus on clearing doubts related to the content of the current module.
  • Each assessment will consist of multiple-choice, comprehensive, descriptive or any other format deemed fit or an assignment.
  • There will be a total of 3 assessments conducted per course, starting from the 5th week of the program, and scheduled during the 5th, 9th, and 13th weeks. The CIA will be open on Monday at 12 am and closed on the following Sunday 12 midnight in the scheduled weeks for the students.
  • The best two scores will be considered out of 3 for a weightage of 30 marks (internal).
