Dr. Umamaheswaran Arunachalam is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics in the School of Arts, Science, Humanities, and Education (SASHE) at SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. He has a total of four years of postdoctoral research experience-three years at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI), Prayagraj, and one year at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal. Additionally, he has six months of teaching experience at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal.
Since August 2022, he has been engaged in teaching and research at SASTRA University, accumulating over three years of academic experience at the institution. He earned his doctoral degree in Mathematics from Periyar University, Salem, Tamil Nadu, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. C. Selvaraj, specializing in Algebra.
Dr. Arunachalam has published more than ten research articles in reputed journals indexed in SCI/SCIE, Scopus, and the UGC CARE list. His research interests include the study of rings and module categories, homological algebra, cluster algebras, Lie algebras, representation theory of finite-dimensional algebras, and the Iwasawa conjecture in number theory, particularly from a homological perspective.
